Roadtrip update

Though I’ve been online for most of the trip, I haven’t updated the site recently. Will have to catch up on it in the coming week (or may be a little bit today since I started this one…). I took a slightly different route than the one shown in the previous map – went up towards Erir before cutting over to Albany. Looks great on the map, but the parts there there was no interstate and just state highways is painful. Get stuck behind some moron who is driving slow and you’re dead in the water until one sees a gap in the opposing traffic long enough for me to really see what the pick up on my vehicle was like!

In Boston at the moment, headed to NYC tomorrow and then back!

More later.

Roadtrip to Nova Scotia!

I’ll be on the road for the next few days enroute to Nova Scotia, Canada driving through most of New England. I’ll be stopping by in Vermont to meet an old high school friend at Dartmouth and then taking the ferry from Bar Harbor, Maine, over to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. On my way back I’ll stop by Boston and visit my friend at MIT in Boston… get some great grub at Penang and Toscy’s and then head on back to the ‘burgh. Here’s a visual…

So needless to say, my Net access will be limited and I won’t be writing as often. But I promise to put up a few more pictures when I’m back!

Malfunction. Need Input. Neet Input

For those of you who remember seeing the very cool sci-fi flick Short Circuit you will probably remember No. 5’s plea for input. Well, that’s what I feel like saying too. Coz. all you folks come take a look, but you don’t really talk back. So tell me what you like and what you don’t like or even what you think.. email me or leave a comment. Malfunction. Need Input. Need Input!

Oh, and BTW, sneaker.org got listed on blog of the day for August 26th, 2001. Thanks to Arthur Coddington for the nomination.

No, I haven’t been slacking…

Well, okay, maybe when it comes to writing more stuff to post on the site with all kinds of crazy thoughts, yes… then I have been slacking. But I decided to take a day or two off to go back to my roots of playing with code. I needed to learn ASP for being more useful at work and so just for kicks I decided to replicate the comments system that I’m using here in ASP with an Access database backend. The result is that there is now a whole new section on the site; the projects section which will from now on cotain the various thing that I develop to keep myself entertained and amused.

The first of course is aspcomments. If you’re using blogger on a Windoze based server then this may be really easy for you to setup. It would also be trivial to use a hardcoded blogid and make it function as a guest book. In funcionality it’s very similar to the PHP-based dotcomments solution or the Perl-based cgicomments.

If you do decide to download it and use it, I’d appreciate it if you drop me a note.
